Rules of the Road
Safety First
The Pride of NautiBuoy meets all Coast Guard and Michigan's Department of Natural Resources boating safety requirements. Our charter certificate remains visible to passengers, and we will proudly present it upon boarding. These safety measures include an inspection of the vessel's seaworthiness, safety equipment, and emergency supplies.
Maximum Capacity
The Coast Guard restricts us to six (6) passengers for charters, which applies to every human species' age. However, we welcome your pets!
Your Personalized Cruise
We will gladly accommodate your cruise's customization. Please consider our published packages as a baseline. Surcharges proportionally cover preferred times and destinations. Let's chat about your select cruise profile!
Performance
The Pride of NautiBuoy can travel at high speeds (up to 40 mph). Please consider this performance when selecting destination options. Some passengers may find a high-speed ride for long periods -- up to 45 minutes across Lake St. Clair -- especially if the water conditions are particularly rough. Additionally, gas surcharges account for this performance. Please discuss destination options with your captain to find the best cruise profile for you.
No-Fun Weather
We can control just about everything on your outing. In the event the weather does not cooperate, we will work with you on alternative options. Rescheduling due to unfavorable weather is expected in this business—no sense in going on a pleasure cruise if the weather doesn't cooperate. At best, we hope there's enough time to reschedule. Otherwise, an entire refund is in order.
The captain will have the latest weather briefing before departure, so don't expect Posideum to pull a fast one on us.
Commitment
Many nautical enthusiasts vie for the few good summer days Michigan affords us. We kindly ask for a $100 deposit to secure your commitment and permit cancellations and reschedules up to seven (7) days to your voyage. Again, the weather dictates otherwise. We will always prioritize your voyage safety and satisfaction.
